NSW: King takes tax payer funded farewell tour of Europe

Retiring MP PETER KING will end his term of office with a taxpayer funded trip to Europe.

The Daily Telegraph says the federal MP will leave on the two-week trip, awarded to
him by Government MPs, later this month.

Mr KING says the trip includes consultations at various European Union offices, with
NATO chiefs in Strasbourg and Brussels and a visit to UNESCO in Paris.

The paper quotes Mr KING as saying his colleagues decided he should be on the visit
because of the tremendous contribution made during his term of office.

Mr KING is the sitting member for the Eastern suburbs seat of Wentworth, but was defeated
for Liberal preselection as candidate by MALCOLM TURNBULL.
