FED: Main round uni offers for NSW & ACT released tonight

The University Admissions Centre says applications for courses in NSW and the ACT far
outstrip the places available.

More than 46,000 people will learn they have been accepted into a university course
in the the main round of offers to be released tonight.

A centre spokeswoman says 78,256 people have applied for a university place in NSW
or the ACT as of January 11 this year.

She predicts only 58,000 to 59,000 places will be offered by the conclusion of the
process on February 7.
