QLD:Fourth LNG plant moves a step closer
A fourth LNG plant for central Queensland has moved a step closer, with Arrow Energy
awarding a multi-million dollar contract for the project.
The engineering design will be done in Australia, Japan and the United States over
the next 12 months by an international consortium.
The plant, to be built on Curtis Island off Gladstone, will have two processing units
each capable of producing four million tonnes of LNG a year for export.
Arrow CEO ANDREW FAULKNER says it's too soon to say when it'll be up and running.
Premier ANNA BLIGH says the project could create more than three thousand Queensland jobs.
